Sixtoo has been our best homie north of the border for well over 10 years now, so we (with the help of Beer and Rap) asked him a few questions. VE: Is your new album still due for a fall 2007 release? What's it like, and how is it different from the last one? September 11th release date. The record has much more sensual overtones, and is about the plight of an art thug in a 24" dubs society. I just put some dubs on my 10-speed. I got my dick chromed. I like knives and soundsystems and bomb titties and other fun things...this record really reflects the truly fun person I have become in my adult life...it is decorated with a jackal and a viper beating a man to death. Real fun stuff. My fronts should let you know about how much I like beats these days. VE: It's been a while (almost three years) since you toured the States. Why don't you tour the U.S. more often? Americans like the super Wal Mart, but don't like it when skinny guys ride the fat man carts to pick up boxes of beer and pellet guns...like, they all think that you are in some knockoff "Jackass" or like, making a Michael Moore documentary or some shit. They dunno how to have fun. MOP In The Park is basically what we do everyday in Canada. Canada owns MOP. Ask Bastid. Sergio knows already. So really, I mean... if you like McDonald's and shit, America is ace. Me, I like a bagel, cute girls that have teeth...and to not worry about whether I am in the no-fun zone. I like that you can get spraypaint, guns and booze all in the same place at 3 am at the Walmart. It makes me feel warm and very safe, especially with the governator telling Latinos to watch English television to learn to speak. America is cool.
Aaron is a pussywillow that should have stuck to screenprinting my shirts. He would be rich and have actual sleeves. Aaron, we know you work squeegees dog...Man up! My tats are more G' than yours, and Isaiah knows who the true gurpotron is. I sit like "the Thing." Rock solid homie. VE: Serg asks, "Why are you all dancy-dance now and your friends like Alias are making music from the X-Files?" Sergio is a pussy that can't admit that he likes music made by men strictly for men. Me, I like music made for men, but am not married or out of the closet yet. VE: Do you spend more time on Soul Strut than in your recording studio? Suck a dick. I rock LowBee forums and Fluo Kids links exclusively. Everyone on the internet knows that I only ride for bougie shit. VE: Seems like there are tons of shows in Montreal in the summer. What's going down there this summer? Montreal is owning everyone right now. We have been having Scion smash up derby contests and making scraper art bikes, Van parties in the pisser whip. (Scraper art bikes = they are like the rubber-boot art girl version with like all kinds of cute shit on 'em, Stef needs one!)
Megasoid is a party. Me and Hadjitron mostly. Real fun remixy thing. Vans are better than cars for throwing parties on top of. Tour? Never that son. Megasoid mixtape got scrapped cause rappers are lazy, but Sergio knows all of them. I like Bay area indy club rap. We will make money like whoa. Promise. VE: What DJs are you feeling at the moment? DJs or Producers? I never see any DJs I like. Actually, I like Ed Banger DJs and A-Trak and The Rub dudes. Producers = LA dudes mostly. GlitchMobbers. Lazer Swizzle. Low Endo dudes. Nosaj. and umm... Yeah, that's all, really.
I like kids graffiti and drunk street bombing more than contemporary design. Midwest dudes like 2600 own the shit anyway, so we are trying to corner the market on dumb flyer design and ghetto glam shit. VE: What's up with Bully? Still doing art and design for them? Sometimes, yeah, I did the last Joe Beats thing, D-Styles... etc. Marco is busy working on big things...I'm kinda focused on Sixtoo shit right now. VE: What's up with Ninja Tune? Yeah, Ninja is the best, they let me put out an unmarketable record with no single and a dead man on the cover. VE: Any other labels hollering at you? Give me a label. I'll make money for you. Keep up with Sixtoo at sixtoo.net, Myspace.com/sixtoo and Myspace.com/megasoid. Or try to find him on the Low-Bee or Soul Strut forums. |
